International Cat Care recognised that their existing finance software, Sage 50, was no longer fit for purpose, with many processes having to be done manually outside of the system due to the complex nature of their organisation. They chose to work with Phase 3 to ensure a smooth transition to Sage Intacct.
International Cat Care is a pioneering cat welfare charity dedicated to improving the lives of cats worldwide. Since 1958, the organisation has worked tirelessly to tackle cruelty, ignorance, and misunderstanding about feline health and wellbeing. They focus on education, providing resources, and guidance derived from their world-leading research, while their Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation scheme has encouraged over 4,000 clinics to adopt their best practices. Through collaboration with vets, researchers, and cat lovers, they have driven significant advancements in feline medicine, care standards, and welfare practices.

As a growing organisation, International Cat Care was expanding its reach and its revenue streams, for example through their online store, which offers courses, event and webinar tickets, and membership renewals. However, while an excellent means of growing awareness and raising vital funds, the payments are processed via Stripe, which did not integrate directly with their existing finance software, Sage 50.
This, plus other departmental differences and developments, meant that financial management was becoming a real challenge, with time-consuming, manual processing via Excel being necessary to create accurate reports and budgets.
We first analysed International Cat Care's various finance processes, to understand how best to replicate them in Sage Intacct. We don't believe in 'lifting and shifting', but rather aligning the process with the system's functionality, and industry best practice. Out team then configured every area of Sage Intacct that they would need, from the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, to Smart Rules and Entities. We collaborated with the internal team to thoroughly test the new system prior to going live, not only to address any errors and refine the processes, but also to give the team a hands-on learning experience. The deployment went smoothly, with the team confident in their new system.
