System Selection Project

CGL needed a new system that could manage over 70 sets of unique T&Cs, multiple pension schemes across LGPS, NHS, and Salary Sacrifice. It also needed to be able to handle employees with multiple positions and those who were volunteers.

Phase 3 carried out a system selection process, identifying hundreds of requirements across key stakeholder groups before identifying a shortlist and evaluation of software in the market.

Complex data migration

A deployment plan working across 7 workstreams, and a 3-week window over 300 tasks was meticulously planned, tracked and delivered.

The results

Employees were paid accurately and on time following three robust parallel runs. The functionality of the original system was mirrored in the new system including running payroll, effective reporting and system integrations.

We also facilitated a cultural shift towards a focus on performance drives, clear communication and the delivery of core services. Performance management, advanced reporting and dashboards were also unlocked. and new processes, guided user journeys and case management were established.

Over 300 data conversions were completed during data migration

4,000 colleagues’ pay was matched, with parallel runs balancing to the penny for Net Pay and year-to-date items

Approximately 60% of the business logged into the solution within the first 2 weeks of deployment showing a high level of engagement in the new system.
